Key Responsibilities

As a member of the Jumia customer service team, you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat promptly and professionally.
  • Resolving complaints and issues effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Providing accurate information about our products, services, and policies.
  • Handling returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with company policies.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to the appropriate departments to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Documenting customer interactions and feedback in our customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our customer service processes.

Requirements

The ideal candidates for our customer service roles should possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with customer service software.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.

Work Schedule and Location

Jumia offers flexible work schedules to accommodate our employees’ needs. Customer service roles may include working on weekends and holidays, depending on business needs. Positions are available at various Jumia locations across Africa, with opportunities for remote work as well.
